We are looking for 1 more person to serve on the Village of Grafton Tree Commission, the term length is 3 years and they would be responsible for suggesting and reporting to Council on all issues relating to trees and foliage within the Village. Chapter 1026.02 of the Codified Ordinances of Grafton has all available information relating to duties and responsibilities of the Tree Committee, which is shown below.

Tree Commission Village of Grafton 1026.02 Duties of the Tree Commission:
● The Commission will “adopt rules for holding regular and special meetings” in order to accomplish their duties of all things tree related
● The powers presented to the Commission include the ability to: “study, investigate, plan, advise, report and recommend to Council or the Mayor any action, program, plan or legislation for the enhancement of the urban forest and which the Commission shall find or determine to be necessary or advisable for the care, preservation, trimming, planting, replanting, removal or disposition of trees and shrubs in public ways, streets, alleys parks or other property owned by the village”
● There is no compensation for members of the Tree Commission, but they are “entitled to reimbursement for any and all necessary expenditures in carrying out the functions of the Commission.”
● The Tree Commission will “act as trustee for any property, assets or funds donated to the Village for the care and maintenance of trees” (only if the donor designates the Commission to be the Trustee.
